Privacy Policy
Sanders County Community Development (SCCD) is a nonprofit community development corporation serving Sanders County, Montana. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. That happens in a few places:
- Forms. When you contact us, ask about a loan, request business help, or inquire about partnership, we collect what you enter: typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, and your message.
- Learning Hub signup. Signing up for the Learning Hub creates an account on this site using your name and email address so you can access recorded workshops.
- Donations. Donations are processed by a third-party donation platform, not on this site. We receive your name, contact information, and gift amount from that platform. Your card or bank details never pass through our website.
- Site usage. We may use basic analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site: pages visited, time on page, and general location at the city or region level. This data does not identify you personally.
How we use it
- To respond to your questions and requests
- To evaluate and service loan inquiries and applications
- To give you access to workshops and recordings you signed up for
- To thank donors and provide gift receipts
- To improve the website and our programs
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.
Who we share it with
- Our underwriting partner. Loan inquiries and applications are reviewed with Mission West Community Development Partners, who provide underwriting and loan servicing for SCCD. Information you submit about a loan request is shared with them for that purpose.
- Our funders. SCCD programs are supported by federal and state grants. We report program activity to funders, such as workshop attendance and businesses served, in summary form or as our funding agreements require.
- Service providers. The companies that host this website, deliver our email, and process donations handle data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.
The business plan builder
If you use the business plan builder on our Business Plan Help page, the notes you type and the name, email, and business name you give us are sent to Anthropic, the company that runs the Claude AI service, so it can draft your plan. Anthropic does not use what we send to train its models and deletes it from its systems within 30 days. We keep a copy of your notes and the finished plan so our staff can help you with it, and we email you a private link to it. Nobody else can see your plan unless you share that link. If you want us to delete a plan, contact us and we will.
Cookies
This site uses a small number of cookies: the standard cookies WordPress needs for logged-in accounts (such as Learning Hub access), and analytics cookies if analytics are enabled. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the public parts of the site work fine without them.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and hosted with a professional WordPress host. Access to form submissions and account information is limited to SCCD’s service providers and contractors who need it to do their work.
How long we keep it
We keep form submissions and account information as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our grant and legal record-keeping obligations, then delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless a funding or legal requirement obliges us to keep it). Email us or use the contact form and we will take care of it.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Links to other sites
We link to partner organizations, government resources, and our donation platform. Their privacy practices are their own; check their policies when you visit.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with an updated date.
